Alex Huang

President

Alex Huang is a rising senior at The Harker School who is extremely passionate about STEM and community service. He combines his passions by regularly teaching AMC 8 and AMC 10/12 courses to underprivileged students at a local non-profit. Alex has also worked to inspire more active engagement with STEM topics by co-hosting the 2023 Harker Physics Invitational. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing bridge and chess. He aims to leverage his experience with volunteer work at YVSF to achieve an even greater social impact.


Zihua Wang

Chief Operations Officer

Zihua Wang is a senior at the Harker School with a longtime passion for service. In middle school, he began volunteering regularly for local organizations including churches and holiday gift drives where he learned the importance of volunteer work. Inspired to do more, Zihua decided to take more initiative planning and leading his own service projects in high school. Among his accomplishments are organizing a conservation project for a local park and leading a PPE-manufacturing group during the COVID-19 crisis. With YVSF, Zihua hopes to bring his experience with service at the local level into a wider community and fight a pressing issue plaguing thousands of Americans.


Krish Mysoor

Chief Creative Officer

Krish Mysoor is a high school senior at the Greenhill School interested in film and media. His films have won awards at multiple Oscar qualifying film festivals including the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival as well as winning the All American High School Film Festival. He is interested in using film for activism and is excited to contribute his expertise to Youth Voices for a Sober Future.

Siri Chundru

Chief Events Officer

Siri Chundru is a middle schooler at Harker. She is interested in journalism and regularly contributes to The Eagle Gazette at Harker. She has a love of learning and is interested in understandings of the world and exploring cultures. She enjoys working on tech theatre for the Harker plays. 


Shreeyan Godey

Chief Communications Officer

Shreeyan Godey is a sophomore attending Valley Christian High School who is passionate about serving and helping others. He actively engages in various activities as a Boy Scout such as camping, community service, and cleanup projects. Additionally, he generously volunteers at churches and homeless shelters by assisting in meal preparation and delivery. He is also a member of the Waterpolo team at his school, where he enjoys playing and developing his physical fitness, sportsmanship, and team-building skills. Shreeyan aims to raise awareness about the issues affecting people due to drunk driving through YVSF.

Andrew Liang

Editor in Chief

Andrew Liang is a junior at the Harker School and the co-News Editor for Harker Aquila. His past volunteering experiences include teaching English as a second language to students in China and tutoring with various subjects such as earth science and computer science. Although he enjoys helping others through teaching, he is looking forward to using his other skills to help the community around him. In YVSF, he can use his journalistic skills to inform the community about a grave danger and tell the stories of people.


Sathvik Chundru

Founder

Sathvik Chundru is a senior at the Harker School in San Jose, CA. He enjoys learning in and outside school as well as giving back to the community. During his sophomore year, he created a machine learning algorithm to detect insobriety based on an individual’s walking pattern as measured by their smartphone's gyroscope. The main objective of the program was to prevent drunk driving through audiovisual warnings on smartphones and potential disablement of automobiles. He founded YVSF along with a team of motivated high schoolers working on spreading awareness to fellow teens and eradicating the scourge of drunk driving.

Rishi Tumala

President, St. Louis (USA) Chapter

Rishi is a senior at Lafayette High School in St.Louis, Missouri. Rishi is passionate  about giving back to his community. He volunteers for various organizations such as Friends of the Rainforest, Missouri Ganesha Temple, New Creation International and volunteered for a food drive for Afghan refugees. He loves sharing his knowledge with others and tutors at New Creation International and a teaching assistant at Bal Vihar. Rishi played for his school tennis team. He is a member of the National Honor Society and plays guitar. 

Vikram Chandra

President, San Diego (USA) Chapter

Vikram is a junior attending San Marcos High School, with a keen interest in Computer Science and Neural Networks. He enjoys applying his passion for these fields to his love for Astronomy by working on research projects, for which he received multiple regional and state awards. As an active member of the school’s robotics team where he works on developing software for the robot and mentors new members in Java programming. Along with his love for coding, Vikram enjoys playing the violin, indulging in astrophotography, biking, and playing badminton during his free time.


Boots Zhang

President, Beijing (China) Chapter

Born in 2008, Yian is a Chinese student currently residing in Beijing. Born in the United States, he returned to China at the age of 3, first attending the International School of Beijing, then moving to Dulwich College Beijing in pursuit of a more rigorous cirriculum. There, he decided to put his efforts into pursuing economics, social studies, and engineering, and is currently learning German and Russian. Now, he has turned his attention to social problems in the world, such as poverty, unsanitary conditions, and drunk driving.


Rohan Dasanoor

President, Akron (USA) Chapter

Rohan is a sophomore at Revere High School in Akron, Ohio. His favorite hobbies include programming and debate. After noticing safety problems in his community, Rohan's found his interest in volunteering and social work. Throughout high school, he volunteered at programs aimed at helping young kids learn about basic safety including fire safety and stranger danger. He joined YVSF as a chapter leader to help spread awareness about drunk driving at his school and in his community to help make the roads a safer place. During his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, tennis, video games and going on runs in his neighborhood.

Samika Kumbham

Officer, St. Louis (USA) Chapter

Samika Kumbham is a junior at Lafayette high school deeply interested in serving her community. She has volunteered with an international non-profit, New Creation, to teach English to children in rural India. This motivated her to formulate her own non-profit, Artify Express, which cultivates creativity through the donation of art supplies to youth centers around the world. She also holds a strong passion for medicine and regularly volunteers at a local pediatric hospital. She helped found her schools Red Cross Club as well as being an active member of HOSA where she has competed and placed at the International Leadership Conference. She also loves to bake in her free time!


Rishi Murti

Officer, St. Louis (USA) Chapter

Rishi M is a junior at Lafayette High School in Missouri. He loves math and statistics and likes to apply these skills in many different areas. Rishi has a passion for computer science and he’s created applications, video games and websites. He’s also created things to give back to the community, for example a website using computer vision which detects objects to recycle. He volunteers as well at the Missouri Ganesha Temple and Food Bank. He loves to help out his friends study for classes and also has a YouTube channel for math videos he started in middle school. He likes to play tennis and in his free time he likes to edit videos for himself and others.


Jahan Sheikh

 Officer, San Diego (USA) Chapter

Jahan Sheikh, a high school junior, is a talented snare drummer in the marching band at San Marcos High School. Beyond the marching band, he also embraces his love for world music by playing conga drums in salsa band. Alongside his musical endeavors, Jahan is an active participant in Model United Nations, assuming the role of an officer. Through this platform, he engages in diplomatic debates and fosters a deeper understanding of international relations. He is also a member of California Scholarship Federation, and in his free time he enjoys surfing as well as improving his coding skills.


Ella Tackett

Officer, San Diego (USA) Chapter

Ella Tackett is a high school junior at San Marcos High School interested in aerospace engineering and political science. Through her involvement in Model United Nations, Ella works to improve her knowledge of diplomacy and global affairs. Alongside her academic pursuits, Ella is an active participant in programs such as the California Scholarship Federation, National Honor Society, Academic League, and her school's book club, of which she is a founder. She is eager to work more towards improving her community, and in her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with friends.


Jacob Sohn

Officer, San Diego (USA) Chapter

Jacob Sohn is a high school junior at the San Marcos High School who is passionate about web applications and networking systems. He has applied this intrest by interning at Grandcare systems as a backend web dev and by working on various side projects that have allowed him to improve his programming and grow his skillset and work ethic. He is also a dedicated member of both a school robotics team and an independent team, in which he has been able to further grow his skills and learn to help others grow alongside him. He enjoys playing video games, biking, and traveling.


Deven Gupta

Officer, Akron (USA) Chapter

Deven is a freshman at Revere High School in Akron, Ohio. He started his journey into community service when he found his passion for Computer Science and wanted to spread his newfound knowledge. As a result, he co-founded a club that teaches younger kids how to code at his local elementary school. The club has taught almost 100 kids over 2 years. As he learns more about Computer Science, he wishes to teach others what he has learned. Deven also likes to play tennis, run on trails, watch movies, and watch his favorite sports.
